Some of you here may be old enough to remember the last Europe referendum – the 1975 vote on Britain’s membership of the Common Market.
You may also remember that a year before that referendum, polls showed most people were planning to vote “No”.
But in the intervening twelve months the European Commission, the TUC, the CBI and the government of the day used every scare tactic in the book to secure a “Yes” vote.
They claimed leaving the Common Market would mean permanent decline for Britain – less international influence, less work, less trade and less money.
As a tactic it was shameless, but it worke

He also said :
"We would be looking for a clear mandate. And I would be very surprised if the proposal I have described does not obtain a 70% voting majority – greater than we got in ’75, and greater than any modern political party has ever achieved".

A quite a bit more than 52% achieved.

What loves to get forgotten- the uk already was in permanent decline, before it joined the common market. That is why it joined:banghead:

What harm has the EU done to you, either economically or any other way since we joined the EEC in 1973?
It got too big with regards the amount of member states it now has.
It became too powerful with regard to EU governance compared to individual state governance.

Worst of all, it failed in one its two prime objectives: To allow all its farmers to maintain and enjoy a decent standard of living.

Right I've sorted it .

House of Commons motion

No deal or revocation . binary choice .

Then the electorate will know who voted for what .

IMO the Labour mob will jump on it and hopefully finish it off .
