Emails often go to junk mail folder if it's not someone youve emailed before.

Seen me getting annoyed with someone for not replying and finding reply in junk folder.

As has already been said, not doing what you say you will has become normal nowadays. I seem to spend a large part of my days chasing people.

The burning question is, did you ring? The suspense is killing me....
I Sent an email yesterday so they have a kind of hard copy of contact now, will ring this morning as most are not working in office so calls get directed straight to the store department. I know the stores manager so might get some sense, if there is no response, will then leave it. I am fairly confident they won,t beat the 1st quote anyway, but you have to try or give them a chance if they can be assed or not. The prices do seem to differ a lot between brands on the internet, especially when you spec them with commercial axles and mini super singles etc.

I am in need of some special bolts, only 12 x 150 but they are uncommon. Have been quoted $400 dollars each on one US site.
Several big companies could not help but one bolt factor locally said yes they had got them, but it was a box of 25 and they were very expensive. I only want ten but hey ho. He was going to ring back in five minutes with his best price, I know Fischer quote £325 + vat RRP
That was last week and heard nothing since. Luckily an Ebay add popped up bought ten for £20 inc delivery, joy😀
I guess someone like me had no use for his surplus bolts
Very glad that call did not come back!

I think we all need to be kinder to our suppliers. The people who are good at their jobs are very busy and the changes in the last year have amplified that.
l know our suppliers who try hard but occasionally fail to meet expectations, as opposed to the ones who are generally hopeless.
Farmers are a group are more difficult to contact because they often leave land line numbers and then go into the yard. The best thing to do if a call fails is to say when to call back! Mobile numbers are better though so many of us have poor reception.

I will phone you back today . Dont say if if you have no intention of doing so, some days I feal like my brain is going to boil . I don't have to do it, I'm very lucky that farmers support me the way they do and I don't forget that

So , controversial comment..... how many of you call the salesman back when they keep chasing you to make a decision? How many ring then to thank them for their time but to tell them you have bought something else? In my 20 years of selling I’ve had that less than 20 times.... most just stop answering their phone.... it works both ways .
So, did you call them back? 😉

If I’d had 2 or 3 quotes for something I’d call the dealers who missed the deal thanking them for quoting and say hopefully do better next time.it’s just good manners as far as I’m concerned.

my experiences are its rare to get good service ? the more you spend the worst it seems to be ? buy a item from a supermarket have a problem, sorry we will change that, no problem ? phone up about a property? a case in point we sold a small lump of land, first agent we approached to market it got all stuffy when they diddnt want to market it at our price , other one has now sold it ? Toyota , well product is good but the salesmenship ?

sometimes for simple machinery they could just put the bloody price on the advert, wouldn't half save a lot of messing about

Just for balance some farmers think they should
get full discount and then some more on top and
delay paying their bill .
I dont know the OP so this comment is not aimed
at him and it might be a case that the sales people
are pure lazy.

She may not of passed it on but there are a lot of dealers who can’t seem to be arsed ringing you back these days....they seem to think you have to do the chasing 🤔

Not like the mid 60's when if there were signs of a combine on fire in a field within 30 miles you would have five or six dealers reps turn up at the scene before the Fire Service had got it under control....

Maybe sales people are more stretched than they used to be, less covering a wider area.
Why would a sales person want to bother with a 8 to 10 k sale when mr big down the road is thinking of changing his fleet of tractors and balers!!
