Ring womb

How do people approach ring womb?

Got a ewe been messing about for a few hours, maiden ewe carrying a single.

She's been walking around squatting and pawing the ground. No sign of water bag.

Had a quick feel and nothing obvious but she is slightly dilated.

Probably not ring womb and just maiden ewe, hopefully not presented wrongly!

But just was interested in how people deal with ring worm?

I had it last year, she messed about for a good 12 hours before we decided it's a vet job, you could feel the muscle of the womb was tightly shut, I had to get my mother to have a go as she doesn't have shovel hands, put gentle constant pressure on hopefully to make it open and relax. No luck, vet came and opened her up and pulled 2 big fat lambs out and made the Saturday lad faint while he was at it!

Well that all happened a bit quick. Big lamb with one leg back. Turned my back and head and one leg out.

She opened up in less than 10 mins.

Me fussing about nothing.

If people ask I advise calcium and a couple of hours time. I suspect the time does more than anything.

If not opening up then genetle working of the cervix is ok, but no progress in 5 mins and then really a caesarian is the best option for a good outcome.

Thanks and noted.
