Does anyone use a ritchie beef monitor auto weighing water drinker? Or similar system. Any reviews or thoughts on them?

I love the concept but can not see it lasting that long surrounded by muck as modern galvanising is terrible. We weigh all our cattle at the begining of every month and can weigh 100 per hour through the crush and can also check/replace ear tags at the same time as well as apply any treatments etc. I would spend the money on improving my handling facilities instead.

It does have the benefit of being no work, you have accurate up to date weights, can see cattle that aren't thriving aswell very easily. Im not against doing a bit of graft, but if its a job where tech can eliminate it surely that time is better spent on other jobs. As basically a one man band, running 100 fattening cattle threw a crush and recording their weights isnt easy, even with good facilities.

I take your point about galvanizing, and i would say from the pictures I've seen, its maybe a little lightly made?
