Limiting water intake around a weigh platform isn't great for finishing cattle. There is a company in Australia https://www.optiweigh.com.au/ who make a mobile weigh system that uses mineral licks or salt to tempt the cattle in rather than water. Seems to be a better option

Very good for daily feed back. Have 33 cattle on one just now and within 3 days all were using it daily some of them as much as 10 times a day most 7 or 8 times. In previous lots of animals if not on it that day a good sign somethings not right with it. I would say you pick them out 2 or 3 days before you would other wise. Very good addition I would say.

I love the principal of it but muck, electrics, water and poor quality modern galvanising wouldn't fill me with confidence especially with the price of it. We weigh all of our cattle every month and can do 100 an hour.

I’ve been involved with a beef monitor on a commercial monitor farm. The farmer has never be penalised for over weight cattle since getting it. He commented that he used to weigh them once a month and so them standing still weight wise for a few days after. He reckoned he got the cattle away 3 weeks earlier that previous years so seems to be saving him money on feed, bedding and labour but also not being penalised for overweight cattle was the biggest thing for him

Alot cheaper than it used to be, surely it will be cheaper from dealer as they dont deal direct
It could be cheaper from dealers but it's still very expensive for what it is especially when most people would need lots of them for every pen on the farm. You coud spend less than 2k on weigh bars etc that do the same job.

How would that be a better option? it only weighs their front feet so surely carnt be as accurate as whole animal being weighed
