Locals need to call the Council tell them the problem and ask about their Civil Defence policy...

Call teh local Press and get it out there to stop the EA denying responsibility...
Local press? They've no interest in anything outside of the towns... unless it's the fluffy wuffy cutesy pie stuff about little lambykins.... Likewise with the regional news broadcasts & if it's anti-establishment then forget it - there's more important stuff to report like a bunch of people taking ten years to build a timber framed church, even the disgraceful (mis)guided bus system that's already falling apart barely gets a mention these days.

They can’t keep the level high as it’s tidal, but I suppose you could say by lack of dredging they are keeping it higher than it otherwise would be
By keeping the gates shut at Earith and not utilising the capacity of the Old Bedford they reduce the rate at which the water can flow away, which keeps the level higher than it need be, of course if the 100ft was properly maintained it wouldn't be such an issue.

It baffles me how nobody seems to give a feck about much at all tbh.
A person failing to get their order right at a Starbucks is going to rank higher than this stuff.
I'm lost.

the only time anything gets a lot of attention is when a tragedy happens and life, lives are lost? terrible to say that? then all the various official bodies come out of their hiding places to makes statments? asking for a public enquirey that then gives another civil servant gets a jolley to make a few million, publish a large report that no one reads? stuffed with a load of meaning less jargon that someones downloaded off the internet to pad out the report? How do i now all this, because we had it here?

Bit like when all this flash flooding happens, in places not seen before,
‘It’s global warming’
No it’s not,
But a list of man made changes that have affected water absorption and run off,
Ie, building, lack of maintenance, clip board operatives, etc etc,
Was in a Sussex the other day and a car park was near full of water and I suspect some cars were actually damaged. Why? Because the drain was blocked nothing more, nothing less
