Cant remember the exact wording but it sounds like it's on Hfd Times website. ....will look laterWhat were the actual charges?
EA and other drainage board types havent a clue . Mates had the EA out making sure flood release valves work , but so far they havent had the brains to realise that there are flood valves either side of the floodbank. They only oil and clear the one side and havent worked out water should flow in and out the other side. Money wasted is obscene, main person walks the valves and reports back to the workman who then arrive in a fleet of trucks but none of them have so far realised !sounds like the EA have got some big wigs involved to make a example of JP, vigilante river maintenance obviously isn’t something the EA are fond of.
they really are some sh1tsAdjourned until october , looks very likely to be costly . I see one farmer who did something similiar got a fine of just over 400k.
Yep, I saw something about that one too.... Biggest proportion of that "cost" was the reinstatement figure though?Adjourned until october , looks very likely to be costly . I see one farmer who did something similiar got a fine of just over 400k.
For what? They have no obligation to maintain rivers, their powers are "discretionary".Could bring a civil lawsuit against the EA?
Why do you hope that?No other choice but to plead guilty. Hope it's a big big fine.
As a deterrent for others thinking they can do as they please maybe? I hope it's a lot lot bigger that the last time he was fined. Taken to court in 2007 and fined £10,000 for.... Er, illegal river works. Why do you hope that?
Perhaps you need to go downstream a bit and ask the villagers who have flooded for yrs on end whether he should be fined or rewarded .......As a deterrent for others thinking they can do as they please maybe? Perhaps those that he has saved from flooding will chip in and raise enough to pay for the good work, hopefully encourage others to do what is right in the face of stupidityPerhaps you need to go downstream a bit and ask the villagers who have flooded for yrs on end whether he should be fined or rewarded .......
