Not even close to 1.5km don’t know where that figure has come from
Figure of 1.5km has come from the press release issued by Natural England and the EA

Looks like they maybe do creative accounting with each bank being measured as an independant length rather than the length of the river affected. Does make it sound far worse in a court room than it really is. Its certainly not 1.5km of river which vladtheimpailer suggested in post 2482.

Think there was a programme a fww years back about the UK coastline. Officially it is less than 2,000 miles however if you start to go into every inlet it soon becomes 11,000 miles. Then if you start going round every rock grain of ssnd etc. it becomes an infinite distance. So the EA could be right but pedantic

Meanwhile the EA continues to be tight- lipped regarding damage they caused to the 100ft drain. Surely they will have chased up the lab tests by now? How long can they continue to sit on the results?
May be of interest, Copy of survey Dec 2013 for Great Ouse and 100ft river

Hmmmm… not even any mention of puddled clay there then. I wonder how they thought Vermuyden and his mates managed to keep the water in?
