Robotic milking

Putting in a robot in coming month or so. Currently looking at feed fence. We have the s type diagonal barriers from the suckler cows but will these interrupt or damage the activity collars?
Would I be better taking them out and just putting in a pipe?

We have pipe, no issues with collars. I'd be tempted to try them before replacing them all, unless you can use them somewhere else.
What make are you putting in?

Think I've got you now sir. Did you get panels sorted?

Not so slow.

Yes thanks. though they sent me a wrong size to begin with but got sorted. Might need you to do more searching. Need some for cubicle end walls and Keri is getting harder to talk to!!!
Thinking 4ft high panel with 4” tube above it to give bit extra height without blocking view, any better ideas?

You should try and get a yarn with Jeff before he moves on to pastures new!

We lose a lot more ear tags in the locking yokes than on the pipe.
Collars/transponders are not an issue BUT we have had one cow hook her strap underneath the moveable part of a yoke and nearly strangle herself. The D ring type mated to the nylon straps can be a killer as they do not snap - or at least not easily

Just a quick question, do any of you robot guys have 2 separate feed bins going into your robot to give the option to feed different meal to different animals?

Cheers

Bear in mind that the exit hole of the feeder (talking Lely here) is quite small and even with nuts can block with dust easily and therefore wont feed.
If I was you, I would adopt the KISS approach but you may want to consider a glycol feeder?

How do people import heifer Information from nmr to lely as I am making collars up and have noticed that nmr has sent cow data but not heifer , and they say that they are unable to do so, which I find difficult to believe. Can t4c talk to interherd?

Believe me T4C is one of the best platforms out there. We are really missing it ... so much so that we have had to invest in Uniform Agri just to be able to manage our data is a sane way. We were spoilt with T4C.
Yes, it should be able to interact with Interherd but I would talk to Liam Bowen if I was you
