Robotic milking

Nearly broke my hand trying to get a heifer to attach today , for the love of god Lely put manual attach on your robot ! yes the heifer is not perfect but will milk just fine in a few days , why the hell should she have to die or myself get seriously hurt trying to hold teats up just because you want to be able to claim you don't need manual attach . Just leave the software as it was , i.e pulsation on at arrow screen , then you can pretend you don't need manual attach and us farmers can get on with looking after our cows without having to shoot anything that isn't lely perfect on day one :mad::mad::mad:

Can’t imagine not having manual attach with a single button press, use it more on older cows than heifers though.

My eyes are green with envy ! I probably only need it once or twice a year but I have never needed the seat belts in my car , doesn't mean I wouldn't want them .
Originally you could work around it and trick it to let you manual attach , but they updated the software and this is no longer possible as the pain in my hand demonstrates .
Could be some grants on robots again in which case I would look at changing colour although I doubt anyone other than lely would give much for a trade in

I would love a proper manual attach for heifers/ awkward cows for a couple of times at the start. Scan once then allow you to put the cups on. If they would even put it on the 'milk settings' menu as an option that you would have to go into the cow card and change on the computer, similar to the 'milk now' setting.
I reckon I'd use it to start all heifers if it was available, don't see the problem with it, it's not as if she walks in and gets attached on her own the first time anyway.

Just sell your old one via Mr Gibson, it won’t matter what colour you buy then, he still seems to be shifting plenty of A3s, (plenty of A2 users looking for a cheap upgrade)

6 A3s didn't sell locally for 5k each.3 weeks ago.

Puts a massive damper on the saleabilty of used when selling new!

Once again Grant's distort the market.

Yeah the reports seem very good, the users are happy with them as far as I can tell. We had a westfalia surge parlour, 2x 4 herringbone. I think you guys have a different kind of terminology to refer to parlours, I mean 2 rows of 4. With glasses and automatic take off. Not bad really but we now milk in a simple temporarily outside parlour and it's already milking better.

The Monobox's that are in seem to be doing well, still relatively new so time will tell.
Has anyone got the new merlin m2? How are they going on? look smart, dare I say more compact and tidier than the lely.
