Robotic milking

Agree with chips. Once you find out from experienced robot users how to put cow on hold after milking just go round and teat seal or and dry cow. Best way to do it . PS. someone nip round and show Sid his it's done .. That'll reduce his smugommetre reading. .. best of luck SID .. jtt

I've udder minted cows but not done anything to upset a cow ie jabbed her in the robot. I thought that sealing shouldn't put her off as she will have forgotten about it by the time she calves.
I know how to hold a cow thanks jtt.

How do you robot users tube cows at drying off. Been told not to do anything but milk in the robots but i don't fancy drying off a cow either in a crush or in a s/l yoke with me crouching beside her.
Two parallel gates, one with a cut out, make sure they hold the cow tight and a chain between both gates, makes the job a doddle. Oh and you'll also need a halfords prayer mat!!! Which if you have robots is a must anyway.

So the nest chapter, paddock grazing!
So we started with just 1 paddock due to tecnical issues and me not sorting some parts.
On Saturday afternoon we got sort gate 3 working after installing a new card and rewiring the ID curtain. Pushed all the cows through the "diamond" via these gates

and they work like this.

So saturday we pushed all the cows through on a set 6am-6pm paddock A, 6.01pm-5.59am Paddock B.
Sunday morning 6 had gone through by 10am rest were moved up to the sort gates.. Sunday night 12 had gone through by 7pm rest were moved up
Monday morning 15 had gone throguh and in the night 23 had moved up.
At 6.30 5 had been milked on on fresh grass, by 7.20 21 had ben through. I arrived here at 11 am and the last cow was in the robot being milked, all of the rest had been milked and gone through the diamond to paddock A to fresh grass. I must admit i did have concerns but the cows are use to the robots, so it was just the which way to go they needed to learn and they have, I will now after some more digger work, holes in a hedge and fences bring paddock c into play for 8 hour grazing to get the traffic going more.
Huge thanks to Adrian Jose of De Laval, Daw Refrigeration of Newton St Cyres, my partner, kids, mother and father inlaw for baby sitting and helping, and my Dad for all their hardwork and patience with me!

I just wish my Mum could have seen what we have achieved ( i can just about see to type now with tears in my eyes!)

Do you have two sorting gates then from looking at the video, one for cows returning and one for cows exiting ?
I have sadly lost my father now Sid but it was great that he was still around for a good few years post robot, even my Grandfather who only milked cows into churns saw it for a year or two before leaving us , so I get how you feel , Starting to use my Mum now for occasional alarms if they are not too tricky and I'm too far away , she quite enjoys it I think !

That video is in Ireland at Johnny O'Halons.
I've tried to upload a video but need to post it somewhere else and link it but i haven't got an account.
We do have two gates with 3 exits
One with Milking permission, paddock A or return.
Second with Paddock B , Paddock C or return.
Third is by tge VMS with milking permission or no milking permission ie grazing
