Forgive me for being thick, if you don't know how much feed value you are feeding outside the robot how do you know if your feeding enough/too much in the bot ?

Guesstimation. Quicker and usually more accurate than trying to work all the variables.

When I looked into delaval robots and service costs over 15 years, a 40 point rotary was looking far more affordable/sensible and cow numbers could be doubled without much investment other than the extra housing obviously

I`ve heard Buffalos are slow milkers - is that right ?
If so it will affect the number of buffalo 1 robot can milk

depends on the animal really. Some are very fast, others take their time. Most of the herd atm is fast at letting down. on the yields it depends, most average morning milking at 8-12 litres and the evening a little lower than that

I would say you would be better off with a parlour for that number.

4.34ppl labour bill. Including family labour paid a standard 30k as per cfp exercise

Not that it’s any of my business. But I do watch the dairy section. I know there are you and mrs beef farmer and would I be right in think you have a brother as well. The three of you taking £90k doesn’t leave much for the paid labour you would have? Admittedly you might sell 6 million litres of milk. But my small amount of knowledge on dairy I guess reality is closer to half that.
Not having a pop just eager to learn for when I have to put clusters on one day.

Over 170k spent on labour inc family.
Does not take into account houses, water, elsectric, council tax.....
