Any lely robot men on the new Horizon software yet? What are your thoughts?
been on it for a couple of months yet, lely still got plenty of things to iron out of the software yet so i wouldnt be in a big rush to sign up for it. The app is good while it works but unbelivably slow to load up so most days still use the t4c apps as they are a lot quicker and reliable

Yes I couldn't believe when I heard we are going to have to pay monthly for it? 😤😤
You have been paying for T4C updates already, just it’s been included within service contract payments to your local Lely centre who then pay Lely, going forward you have to pay Lely directly. But the service contract prices are not expected to fall 🤷🏼‍♂️🤬

I think the contracts will fall the amount t4c was costing but probably get swallowed up in inflationary pressures. Master contract falling quite a bit but a call out fee being added on . I'm hoping this will save me overall as I'm happy to fit most things myself, only time will tell though.

Support contract going up 15% in the new year

Looks very smart. How many are you running on the robot?
Theres 36 on at the moment. Another 3 to calve before the new year and then we have a second block of 44 to calve from feb onwards. Im hoping to push 80 through her quite comfortably with anything over 150 DIM being given grazing permission which will hopefully free up space for the fresh cows in the building.

Nice. I really like the look of them, certainly looks far better access for maintanence then my GEA R9500, as long as you have a pit. Also software wise far more user friendly. Wouldn't swop it though, as far as milking technique

We have a pit. Im quite glad we decided to dig one out. Its made life much easier for cleaning and sorting one or two flighty heifers during first milking and its a bonus that you can manually attach with the delaval which we have had to do with a few nutters during the initial visit. We are avg 31 days in milk with majority being 40+ and i haven't as much as got a syringe on site at the moment so milking technique is definitely up to standards and our SCC has been 92 or 94 quite consistently with a group avg yield of 16kgs/day which is fair going for jersey heifers early on in lactation. For anyone considering robotics i would certainly give the vms some serious consideration.

Slowly but surely. Every day is a school day so they say 😀

TBF it takes some balls to go it alone without help.
Wont be long before the heifers are fully trained but that’s only the first hurdle.
It will be the 2am alarm calls that will really test you especially as a novice when you’re finding your way around the bot.
By the 6th year, Matt could sort most stuff … which is essentially plug & play
