Robots

The fact that they sold him a robot that didn't work!!
His yields went down going from parlour to Monobox and back up and some more when he moved into a Lely. He sued for all his expenses and lost milk yield, culled cows etc. And got all he claimed for.

Well when we were looking at a parlour the rep wasn’t really interest so it kind of put us off.
We’re having Lely reps out again to do some drawings

When we were thinking about putting a parlour in we had the delaval rep out, we mentioned that we were thinking about a robot. "what do you want one of them bleady things for"?! was the reply. Didn't really fill us with much confidence in delaval to be honest.

Been up and running with lely now for 8 months and were very pleased with how everything has gone.

I currently am speaking to people in Norway, Canada, France and the states all the same story. Monoboxs coming out. Remember the Dairy Pro Q is just a lot of monoboxs in a circle. As I said before if the one at Glastonbury was working well you would have heard of it. Michael Evis told us there would be buses running from bath and west.

How many do you have in? Housed it grazed?
Where I used to work we put 3 in in a fully housed set up and I was amazed!
I’m now back home farming and we’re thinking of 1 robot with the cows going out to graze

Been running for 8 years with 1 lely a3n, grazing 24hours a day for long as weather let’s. Up to 70 cows in herd, usually milking 60-65.
Now got to the stage of needing to go 2 robots, will probably go with 2 new a5’s. But wouldn’t rule out DeLaval or fullwood. As others have said robots from the main 3 all milk cows, it’s the support that makes or breaks the job.

One at the moment, and were fully housed. We were beef and sheep so we wanted to start off small and go from there. Hopefully put another one in within the next couple year and hopefully 2 more after that is my long term plan (y)

Curious thing about these mione robots, the bloke that was in the magazines with the biggest one in the world at the time, a five cow version, is so happy with it that he's put a three cow one in as well, which is an improvement on the earlier one apparently. He's had some staff decide that they preferred the routine of parlour milking, but other than that, all good, apparently.

We are the same here, we have some beef and sheep as well so 1 robot would be a nice starting point to build upon.

Oh dear! No wonder you went back to a parlour!

Robots work fine. Here's a snapshot of our "dashboard" just now (& remember these are Jerseys)
