Had my first Rolex as an 18th Birthday present. Still going strong and worth a lot more now than it cost back then.
I was promised one of those! Never arrived. And a 12 bore when I was 21. That never arrived either. Took a few loads of scrap in to buy my gun in the end, about 10 years later.
inherited a very nice Juvenia a few years ago though, one of those kinetic movement types.

Mine's a Citizen eco-drive, women's. Waterproof to 100 metres (I have worn mine in the sea, but not dived with it on).

It isn't worn every day, but is rugged enough.

One of these.... can't go wrong for £15

£15?!?
That model has been around 25+ years. I remember when you could get them for about £6 or £7 in Argos

They're a good, basic, solid watch which is slim/non bulky and probably the best shout so far...

or go on ebay and buy the cheapest watch you can find. I have a £2 plain analogue watch straight from China which I put a leather strap onto (cost more than the watch!). Slim with a clear dial and is waterproof. Had it 4-5 years now. I wear it as good, actually, and have had the odd compliment... which is always met with surprise when I say what it cost :ROFLMAO:

There’s a metallic gold version that’s even more expensive as it’s “hip”. The people that buy it for it’s ironic value are parodied well here :

That plastic version is great, but the strap usually breaks (perishes) before the watch.

I wear the analogue version and it’s served very well over the years.

Google 'G10 watch', which will probably bring up 30 different manufacturers versions based on the military 'G10' style, which should be fairly compact and robust. Adverts will always say 'mens', but they're not that big. Should also be available with tritium illumination which will glow in the dark for years, or cheaper luminova versions. Cheaper versions have perspex 'crystals', better versions will have glass.
She might need to add another few holes to the strap with a hot pin.
