Rock crusher hire 2000t+

Does anyone know much about crusher hire rates? Clearing a site just now and could end up with 2-5000t of good rock broken out and wondering if it’s worth crushing to sell on?

Round here crushing is about £1 ton or £1000 a day for the crusher plus the digger to load and a scoop to stockpile unless you can do that your self. Crusher run is between 4.50 and 6 a ton depending on where you go and how much you want.

£85 an hour pus fuel plus digger. So £140 an hour for 100 ton an hour. We just did 2000 cu/m of stones and some rubble. Well worth doing compared to buying in.

-Crush stones and get crusher run
-put that through cone crusher and get 40mm down
-screen that and end up with clean 40mm and sub base?

If you are crushing for your own use, it's a no brainer. Even if you just heap it up and leave it for some future project. Depending on how well connected you are builders or other farms might buy some. Wouldn't make the fact widely public though.

Ring up suppliers and ask how much crushed stone is. Mental money I bet. And I'd hate to to even contemplate the cost of having the stuff legitimately 'disposed' of.

Yes, or you could skip the cone crusher and just screen the crusher run and depending on what size screens you use could have several different piles of stone / subase.

I’d be inclined to screen the crusher run and miss out the cone crusher unless you are particularly needing the smaller chips

On a jaw crusher,it can be shut down to make 40mm to dust ,,just depends how clean it to start with ,,rebar doesnt go through ,concrete and bricks fly through

I had one in, £650 per day with an operator, 40t machine, did about 500 ton per day.

I saw some stones like that in bags in the garden centre. 5 stones for £12!!! I kid you not.

Lucky to get rocks that size for less than a tenner each at garden centres here yet If went into the quarry ,,I could get a ton for £10

You’d be £12.50 a ton for proper crushed rock/stone out of a quarry. 7-8.50 a ton for recycled rubble.

Unfortunately definitely not limestone, most likely a kind of gabbro, which is actually relatively hard.

Cant be any worse than steelworks iron slag ,,that stuff speaks for its self
