Rock hard lump on sheeps jaw...

Looks like an abscess, but like I said absolutely solid like bone, no puss or visible legions.
Ewe is broken mouthed, still eating etc but lost condition.
Never seen it before, any ideas what it is, looks like it will be a bullet job!

I did wonder if it was something like that!
I don't think she's worth sending, not exactly a good advert for the flock...
Probably spend a few weeks and a couple of quid getting her in better condition so she can drop dead anyway!

I'd not worry about her being a bad advert. Anyone that doesn't admit getting the odd one go wrong is a downright liar.

Even a screw makes a surprising bit these days, as well as not costing you £17 (or whatever) in deadstock collection.

It's not fluke causing it if it's 'solid like bone'. More likely a tooth abscess that's gone wrong IMO. Get her gone asap, rather than try to fatten her any further?
That’s what I’d say, has a steer with one once, went solid like bone and just wouldn’t finish

Had one like that a couple of years ago, right on the joint of the jawbone. Noticed it at this time of year when we were going through the ewes pre tupping. Never did any research just got her away. Think she made £40, better than £20 cost imo.
