Roller shutter door controls.

About to remodel a building to have some decent doors in them.

It’s either sliding doors or RSD. Sliding doors are fine but I will be in and out often, they will always be locked to keep prying eyes out, so a lot of faff.

RSD’s are great but slow to operate. Can controls be bought that, when the open button is pressed, they will auto open or does one have to stand there using the dead man switch?

Or, are they any reliable WiFi / sim switches available so they can be remotely opened, bit to swanky but will save I recon 48 hrs per annum!

We've a few roller door's, all auto open up, can press the down at anytime to stop it at a certain point, but all have to be held on to operate down, as said above, the cost of the H&S sensors was a none starter for us. The latest door which is also the largest is really quick so no real time lost, like seconds to open and shut fast.

They will open automatically, but for safety reasons you have to hold the button to close them. You can even open them with a remote control device. The temptation though, if impatient, is to try and drive under too soon.....:X3:

We have a fob for ours. Press once to open, press and hold to close. It is possible to have auto closing but, for us, the cost of all the safety sensors was not worth it.
You can have auto close without the sensors if you open the controls & flick the relevant DIP switch...its just an H&S issue if anything goes wrong. But I do find it means the door gets shut more often if you don’t have to stay holding a button.

Is that an obvious switch? Is that on the 3 switch unit's, my newest Is just a key, left for up, right for down.

We’ve got one that closes automatically. Just press the down button on the key fob once and drive away. It’s got a tube moulded into the bottom seal with a small light one end and a sensor the other end. Anything touches / deforms the tube and the door goes back up. Probably been in 10 years and not had any problems (hope not tempting fate) Can’t remember how much it was but dont recall the auto but adding much to the price

Hey, I have popped on your quotation an extra over for safety. This allows you to operate via fobs/loop modules/radars, I have also covered the extra over costs for each on there giving you a breakdown! I have also quoted a direct drive as they aren't as slow as some of the other operators we offer. However, as for activation I wouldn't risk any of them without the safety on there ☺

There is a place beside Walker crisps in Leicester can't remember the name but the shutter door opens in a couple of seconds when the forklift approaches, then close just as fast behind them, can't remember if they use the horn, maybe just to warn others or maybe opens the door, store is refrigerated I think.

Many refrigerated places have a PVC curtain door just to stop cold air getting out/warm air getting in. Something like this:

Not sure it's much of a security door though.

Have seen them but thought this was different. I would have said it was metal but could be wrong.

You have seen it so I would defer to you.

I’d have thought metal would wear if going up and down quick but perhaps not.
It's a few years ago now & I was only watching it from the other side of the yard, but it might have went up round a roller & back at 90 degrees to the wall if you get me? think some on the continent work like that.
