Got a 5m wide roller shutter door, it bends alarmingly in storms, infact I've taken to putting bales up against it in strong winds(bit of a faff).
I'd go for sliding doors(2 x 3m) with correct size of tracking and rollers.Don't know how much that would cost though.

I would expect a roller shutter to be cheaper than sliding well up here it definitely is. A roller shutter of that size would be mmmm cant see my last quote but think it was around £1500 fitted.

Sliding doors will bang about in wind depending on install and if they have been closed properly. A bend during high winds is fine as long as it doesn't pull out of the runners.

Id try some other roller door firms for a better quote.

Regards

Two decent sliding doors made out of box and corrugated tin to match the test of the shed with a runner on top and a track on bottom. As said by 7810 go for heavy enough rollers and tracking otherwise they are a pain in the ass.

If possible try not to have a track on the bottom and leave the door about 1.5in up from the ground.

Double sliding door made out of 70mm angle, bottom angle on the other way to run water out, corrugated tin or box profile to match shed cladding with 25x50 box across the inside every 4ft. Stick in a man access door if you want too.
40 or 50 mm thick wall tube sunk half in the concrete with legs welded on underneath buried in. Small projecting down plates welded on the angle holds door perfect to tube.
Heavy duty track and rollers mounted to a proper channel or rsj.
No bending or rattling about either.
Pictures later if you want.

Have a 6.5m x 5.5m doorway here and we made two doors slide past each other, track was made using channel on its side with a 25mm x25mm bead welded on,1st wheels were plastic and lasted about 5 years, new wheels are steel and it moves far easier.(y)

Corrugated tin isn't as nice a finish as I'd like. Can't leave the door off the ground - grain proof!

I think you should be able to get a roller for about £2.5k with electric, but I'm going on previous quotes. Make sure they have wide wind guards.

Ambassdoor or shutter door services, chorley are both good firms which we've used.

Sliding doors are Ok unless you get a bit of foundation settlement or floor movement with lorries driving in, then they become a nightmare as they jam on high bits and leave a gap on low bits and adjustment to get a compromise is nigh on impossible.

So we now go for roller doors. We haven't had them long but make sure they have good wind locks to keep them in the side rails otherwise it's disaster in high winds. We taken to oiling the side channels otherwise they squeak and graunch when going up and down. I think for ACCS you need a rubber strip at the bottom to keep beetles out but we didn't bother as the bloke who sold us them said a mouse would make a hole in it in seconds so it wasn't worth the bother.
