Rolling drilled sugar beet

1st time ever rolled some beet on some Fen Skirt land was power harrowed 1st pass 2nd with germinato brought up clods a plenty .....no rain significant forecast in near future see what happens ..........?
No real winter /frost mold to help much on autumn ploughed land ...............

We had a neighbour who used to use a light flat roll on emerged beet. Has anybody ever done that

When I say up I mean emerged. Maybe it's a Norfolk thing, we always say the corn/wheat/beet/rape/spuds are up when they emerge.

I was drilling the of mine today and my neighbour drilled his a fortnight ago and theres no sign of them yet also my cousin drilled some last friday/Saturday and I had a sneaky peak at the seed today and it hasn't even shot yet.

Beet are up but very yellow due to wind and frost.
Hopefully they will perk up when we get some warmth this w/e.
Not heard of irritation on wheat yet but I'm considering doing mine next week after a dose of N

Hi, yes I know. My post was made in jest. Just teasing. There is still beet being loaded to Newark here and the last fields being lifted tomorrow.

And getting old rapide out of nettles in morning to lift last acre and half , might need gallons of easing oil
