Rolling stubbles

If you have a levelling board setup on the front it can work well as a stubble scratch/rake. Would recommend people tried rolling stubbles after even the lightest tillage as it gets the weeds coming that much faster- seed/soil contact. I shouldn't think the slugs like it much, either.

Bruising the surface can help stimulate a flush of weeds & will push spilt seed into the soil, helping them chit. It makes life harder for slugs too.

Did it once with our paddle board rollers as an experiment, part of the field was untouched part was done in one pass part had a pass twice in different directions, no difference in any bit, was a dryish autumn tho wouldnt want to do it this year with damp soil as my rollers are heavy

We tried it last year, utter waste of time on dry heavy land. Each gang of rollers was only touching in two places! At the moment the rollers would bung up in 100 yds.

I did my own trial this year with a carrier and it was a much bigger faster flush where used. I was hoping for a different result...
