Roots in drains?

Wondering if anyone has a novel way of removing roots in clay tile drains?
I think I have a drain blocked by roots in a drain leading from the house and under the garden hedgerow-have limited access and don't want to have to dig up the garden hedge if at all possible.
Any ideas welcome .TIA

Land drain or house drain? Sounds like a house drain from the way you describe it. The reason I ask is you can put root cutters up the drain from one end but in my experience if house drains are not completely sealed and intact the roots will be back in, in due course.

Dynarod use cutters on a drill type thing.have used them before and it takes time but works.have pulled short (25m) lengths out with a chain on digger bucket but it’s a job

I got around to looking at a drain that hadn’t been running for years, there was a willow tree nearby so had a fair idea what the problem was, the root had found it’s way in one of the little slits in the perforated plastic pipe and then done this, hope you have a good spade

once roots start interfering, that's usually endless problem. We have 2 areas, where roots will stop drains in 4/5 years, we have tried to drain these, even CAP grants, as soon as you start digging, the amount of old drains you find, tells you no-one has succeeded. We have, dug open ditch.
