Beacon on my new holland beacon stopped wizzing round, so tool it apart and the motor is knackered. Googled the number on the motor and came up with the company who made it. Emailed them in China and got a reply that yes they could supply that motor at a cost of 0.92c (y) only down side is they have a minimum order of 5000 :(

So is that it, whole new beacon needed for the sake of a 70p part, anyone come across this problem before?

£510 pounds….. sell each one on eBay as mentioned. You’ll corner the market in people that want to repair their beacons. 👍

Why don't you go one step further and pull the motor to bits? It might be repairable. Maybe.

If it's of reasonable quality, you'll be able to replace the brushes without too much trouble. Clean the commutator, a bit of lube in the bushes and it'll last another few years.

Or throw the whole thing in the bin and fit an LED beacon that meets the required standards, I imagine they can be bought from China for cheap. Or are you not allowed to use them over there?

Good plan. Grab a couple in case the bulb's blown in the first one, wear a bra, put one in each cup? No one will ever know.

There must be someone local to you with a pile of brocken beacons that you can canibalise for parts? One of my colleques keeps a pile and every time tries to make one up, either nothing matches or the repair only last few days…..
