As above conventional and hybrid. What size packs? So many million seeds?

    35p/kgs here - 10kgs /ha = £3.50 plus royalty

I think the royalty on the conventional stuff that has just been cleaned was about £2.20/kg, 80p/kg to clean it.

£9.04/ha royalties (at 10kg:ha that’s the cheaper option)

    Cleaning is free

It’s a sad job when cleaning a crop is worth double the value of the crop itself.....and the royalty is worth six times the value of the end product.

I’m sure there’s a good analogy but I can’t think of one offhand.

Cleaning still costs time & materials if you make a DIY aspirator ;)

I was quoted almost £5/kg to clean, including royalty and 30p of fung :scratchhead:. Could buy new seed for around £9/10/kg.

Got 120kg of seed to clean somewhen

I’ve been growing hybrid and very pleased with yield but this year the seed bed is very dry so will be an expensive exercise if it doesn’t germinate

  18. How is that working @average farmer ? Are there holes in the guttering?

I have a leaf blower blowing up the pipe, just out of frame. No holes in the pipe but a couple of screws holding it to the wood which do a good job, making the seed bounce around a bit .

Why do you drill so heavy? Still aiming to drill 2kg fss here onto ploughed light ground.

Also how and when does one pay the royalties?
