how much roughly are they and where is best to get them from, I have a new Holland 640 and the belts are "on over time!" I think I would probably buy a couple per year and swap the worst probably not endless due to not wanting to strip it down so much, I have the jointing tool if a plain belt supplier.

how do you find the eccentric feeder fork thing under your baler? ours was worn and a bag of sh!t so we re engineered it and made it like a con rod with proper end caps not the pinch type bolt (I hope you know what im on about) it worked perfect ever since our theory is if it ever gets loose we will file a little off the caps to tighten it up. if you ever do any work on this part be careful some balers are 25mm some are 1" shaft maybe your 644 is later but its an easy slip up.

Funny you should say that. We've just been discussing it in the hay topic in the 'general' forum. Have a look at the last few posts there.

I had a set from Amstead and they've been great, there's a company in Thetford Norfolk called special belting supplies (I'm pretty sure that's where armstead get there's from) they're really good and helpful, its worth giving them a ring.
although they supply factories, quarries etc they will know exactly what you need for you baler and will supply then to the exact length complete with joiners.

A full set for my case rbx was £600, CNH wanted more than that for one!

if a full set of endless is only 600 I think I will do that in the winter, was only accepting joiners because didn't want all the expense at once I thought they were more like 300 each, that's what the forums for! bargain hunting.
I have had a bit of grief with the belts slipping in second cut, doing roughly 8 bales to acre but only in fransguard 14ft rows < I know a bigger row would be better but when the bank balance allows im having a twin rake! I have steam cleaned tha back of the belts as they were waxy, its baled marvellous since but it always does in straw so not a true test.
I will go and check the hay topic in general forum.

You won't get non genuine endless I'm afraid they'll have joiners but I really can't see the problem with them, all jd balers have joiners and my case rbx has joiners and they've never been a bit of trouble.

Armstead have given up doing belts/ has retired. the new company in Nottingham were too dear for the belts!

can anyone give me some proper details of the belt pattern/ make that's the best and where to get them from?

just had £135 per belt quoted just debating which pattern is best?
is 3 ply the best belt and is it the 2 ply ones that are crap?

When I had new belts I ordered them off amstread but where made for him by a company in Thetford ,I know this because they came out to bring some new lacing pins because some were missed from the delivery. They said they done all of armsteads work nationwide but where more than happy for me to deal direct.

Google special belting supplies Thetford. Or I can find there card and post here.
