Round baling silage cost

Hi just wondered what other farmers will be paying this year for round baling and wrapping. Thanks

Our contractor has upped his rates massively this year not happy. We have been quoted £2.25 for a 4ft round
And £2.75 to wrap with 6 layers think he’s taking advantage of the small increase in fuel to jump prices

Small increase in fuel? It’s near doubled..

And most contractors will be running a combi baler and they are 80k.

I was joking paid £2.80 round last year
£1.70 to wrap we supplied wrap at roughly £2 bale so cost us £6.50 expect it will be up 25% this year

That's cheap. Most around here will pay North of £20 baled and wrapped

3 isn’t enough 5.50 at least if you want a profit

Wont be much out of tenner a bale all in.

Obviously he is making a killing from your baling. Why don't you buy a baler.

Yep, too cheap. Just bought our wrap, a bit over £3/bale Inc vat and its not even on the bale yet! (4 layers)
