Round steel for feed fence

We have got a new shed going up and want a feed fence. Having 0.5 m panels sitting inside 152x152 H iron I just need a neck rail to span 20ft without bending. I'm thinking 219mm 6mm wall round tube set 6" feed side of the panel and about 18" above the panel. Anyone got any better ideas or know of some second hand tubing as new is very expensive it's 200ft long

I use a 193x6.3 tube usually then weld a piece of 200x200x6.3 to the pillar for the tube to go inside to hold it up

139 x6mm wall will be ok it will flex a little but will not bend, its a double edge sword really the bigger you go the heavier the self weight and it will look like a washing line when fitted.will you need adjustment or do you intend to fix in one position will be best if you get 12.2m bars and have them double spanning 2 bays about £14 per meter should cover the steel if you can find cold finished in that size

A 200mm tube with 6mm will take some bending. I worked it out on calculator when you asked and got that with 1 ton of force in centre there'll be 6" of deflection, but I couldn't be sure I was right so didn't want to post
remember to take in consideration as the ends will be fixed, thats why i would favour a double spanning tube as to flex that much it would need to elongate

W shaped crash barrier would probably be in the £2/ft region after bolting together. They won't bend them. Have some, will try take a photo tomorrow. Ours go against the uprights and we just made our own U clamps out of round bar to hold them on.
