Roundup Causes Cancer

I think anyone with an ounce of sense realises that Glyphosate is living on borrowed time, in Europe at least.

Organic, even at low margins, is clearly the way forward in Europe and farmers will just have to adapt or leave it to others.

Personally it will likely be the end of my brief foray into farming, but nobody should feel sorry for me or anyone else in farming; my land and a lot of others' will grow a lovely crop of houses.

I will die sooner or later.

Sick and tired of

Don't drink
Don't get out in the sun
Don't eat fat
Don't enjoy yourself basically.

Hell, I'll do as I like and I'll die whenever probably from diesel smoke or welding rays. Who wants to live to be 110 and end ones day in a pee soaked armchair in Weston super Mare.

Tired of the attrition of life. Tired of living for the sake of mere living. Time to enjoy and max out. Life's too short.

$289 million makes you think don't it. I was sprayer man since i was 16, sprayed lots of roundup-still do .I had NH Lyymphoma when l was 37. Doctors said it was unusual because its a young persons desease. They also said if you could pick a cancer to get this is the one, because most people survive it.
scratch that. wife just told me it was hodgkins lymphoma.

I was diagnosed with non Hodgkin lymphoma in August 2009 while I was in hospital being treated for Ulcerative colitis.
After undergoing chemo for 2 months and numerous tests I was allowed to go home and carry on living and farming.
Several specialists also told me that non Hodgkin lymphoma is one of the easiest cancers to treat and the survival rate is nearly 100%
if caught early enough. The article quoted above most certainly does not correlate with my experience.I was 54 when I was diagnosed so not necessarily a young persons disease.

So lawyers are determining medical science now. My mother-in-law also had NH Lymphoma in her later years and never sprayed anything in her life; I wonder if her family can join the gravy train too.
I am not for or against but ask one thing .does your mother in law eat bread ?, Monsanto say resurch say its safe .This may well be the case .but as no one is clear what couses cancer .my sister also had the cancer described about and was cured , how can they then say with any certain proof that any product is 100 % safe
I have always been a bit unsure about spraying grain with roundup so close to harvest . But the Mosanto say its 100% safe so it must be

Just my mutterings

American courts have a notorious history of making large awards against foreign owned companies, ( Monsanto is now owned by Bayer ).
In the 1980’s thry detroyed Loyds of Lonodon by awarding vast sums to Chicago Landlords wjo had been convicted of Arson for burning down their own overvalued properties in league with American underwriters .
They decided that the insurance documents did not specifically exclude the owner from claiming after he had deliberately burnt the whole blocks of housing down.
American courts also have a long history of making big awards which are then struck down by higher courts. This case has a long way to go. Incidentally I had a friend with Hodgkins Lymphome who made a complete recovery over 40 years ago , before we had even used Roundup

Indeed - they almost destroyed BP. I do wonder sometimes if the US government purposefully set out to destroy foreign businesses - multi nationals. But that would be fake news and not Free Trade. The USA is interested in only one country. Itself MAGA!!

Experts cant even agree on what causes non Hodgkin lymphoma

Father in law had toxoplasmosis (non farming type). But they were going to treat him for one of the lymphomas until a sharp consultant at the tropical disease center found the real cause of odd cells.

I am sure that Messrs Bayer ( Monsanto) are well insured, and the money will in all probability come from Lloyds of London.Monsanto are of course appealing this judgement. It will be many years before the cheque books are out IMHO.
