The current environmental minister is a complete nutter
she wants farmers to end there "addiction to sprays and chemical fertiliser"
short of assasination we are stuck with her until 2017,

Unreal....

1. They will still allow McDonalds and Burger king sell food...causing heart disease
2. They will still allow the sale of cigarettes which cause 16 types of cancer.
3. They will still poor money into rehab centers to help people who are on drugs.
4. They will still allow the sale of alcohol that cause liver disease, violence and deaths from drink driving.
5. They will still allow the sale of high powered cars capable of exceeding speed limits by 3 times.
6. They will still allow questionable immigrants that have resulted in terror attacks but the more so the un-documented violence towards police trying to enforce law in these neighborhoods and the injuries they sustain.
7. They will still allow the importation of fruit and vegetables from foreign countries where there is less regulation on chemicals and no declarations made on what crops were treated with.
8. They will allow the sale of Apple tech products that will pay no tax in there country as they wash money in Singapore, and the workers are paid poor wages while producing top quality products.

How many people died last year of a "roundup over dose or proven round up related death proven by the coroner as the soul cause" in France last year?

if the proper protection equipment is worn as the label suggest and the conditions of use is followed i'd be extremely surprised if there is even 1 death caused solely by glyphosate. There are alot more deaths caused by alcohol with only a few brands providing "drink in moderation or responsibly" on there labels. Cigarettes still avaliable! - and they go after glyphosate? C'mon some one is taking the pee.

Seems France is banning sale of roundup to the public, thoughts on this?

Will it lead to a wider ban?

Not good news imo
I think all chemicals that are covered by a registration process should be banned from public sale, if its deemed necessary to regulate chemicals for professional use and have statutory rates, timings etc etc it is a total nonsense to allow the public to use them with no training at all, a couple of wks ago I saw an old lady spraying some weeds on her verge, no gloves no mask no overalls, if she gets an illness that is associated with whatever chemical she was using we all know it will be the farming industry that gets blamed not her own stupidity

Its a shame that we have to think this way...that we will get blamed and they carry out a stupid process...could the government not run some adds on tv and radio about safe chemical use? we do it for cars, alcohol and cigarettes...one day the regulation will shift food production from where it is now to unregulated markets. The enviromental laws in Australia did this to our manufacturing - the greens and government are quoting how they have reduced green house emissions in Australia - because we sent the manufacturing to China..were consuming more than ever...

So does the black sea region have these regulations? yet every grain trader will pit you against that bumper crop coming...

I would be very hesitant to say we should remove use from the public as often the consequences are far greater than the cure with government policy.

1. What will people use instead for weed control? mechanical - results in more green house emmisions, labour - becomes cost prohibitive, don't kill weeds...possible infestation into farming areas..
2. Public becomes wary of chemical use and demands government action yet cheap food - food source shifts as the high cost allows overseas imports to become econmical...chemical use shifts from a regulated market at home to unregulated abroad...this is what Australia did to china - our environmental laws were actually worse for the planet, at least at home we could have controlled..now its out of our control.

What we need to do is a survey of spray operators who do stuff on farms and for the councils/parks etc. and get an idea of their exposure and see if there is a pattern of harm.

My Grandad did the spraying on here for nearly 50 years, he'll be 91 this year never had any health problems. (Apart from a triple bypass)

I cannot cover crop the following areas...as much as I like covers

Roadside, driveway, fence lines, paddocks that have never been cropped, the list goes on...

I just worry that these policies end up in Australia...most often find there way eventually...
