Yes it used to be used for racing back in the 60's

We used to go down to SAYFC council meetings at Ingilston on weekends and they used to have cars tearing round, in the early 90's I suppose. Used to go out and watch them at lunch time.

Used to be a lot more exciting sitting in the old council room when they run the other way and were heading right for the window when coming uphill towards the corner. :D :D

In fact the cars going past were more interesting than most of the SAYFC meetings in there. ;);)

I watched artic lorry tractor units race there

There wasn't much space for overtaking 😱
