Thinking about going to the Royal Welsh show this week for the first time. Is it possible to walk the cattle lines or has H&S spoilt the pleasure of chatting to exhibitors where their cattle are tied up in the same way as they have at the Three Counties?

Cattle lines seemed to be closed most times I've tried to go by. It's hard to negotiate the sheds anyway as the exhibitors clog the alleys up with tack boxes, feed, deck chairs, vacuum cleaners and all the other paraphernalia, that they must have within arms length.

Anyone else think its getting same old same old every year? I used to really enjoy going for the social side of it when i was youger but now i only go for the odd day it doesnt seem as good. Maybe its always been like that but without beer goggles on it just isnt as good? Or im getting old and miserable already
And its getting pricey too think it was £28 to get in.

Do they give free tickets to all and sundry, been going for must be nearly 20 yrs and not seen anything free, not made it last 3 yrs sadly.
Though must have been unbearably hot this year.
Think the money usually gets spent on projects, new members pavillion, food hall, drainage for main ring etc, just most recent I can think of.
