RPA appeal

I've followed this a fair while, and fair play for you sticking with it. Like a lot of government "support", they make it complicated and drag it out on purpose, with their 200 page documents. I for one hope that , whatever comes, you show them up for the prize twits they are and that they get a good spit roasting. And if you need anything in the meantime just let us know . These big departments just expect the little ones to roll over, and it's time we took the power back.

I don’t think I need to now show them up for the prize twits they are, they have now done that to themselfs !.

If you want to know why I’ll PM you as I don’t want to post it on an open forum just yet !.

I didn’t write twits either ?

Sceptic that I am. If they give you a hearing, take a credible witness to proceedings with you.....what you think was said/agreed can get written up v.differently by these people after.
I used to sit on the Appeals Panel. It is nothing like that. The 3 Panel members are all independent and nothing to do with RPA. It is as informal as possible under the circumstances. The only RPA presence is one person to give technical guidance, they do not ask any questions and do not take part in the 'judgement'. When the appellant has left the room the RPA person leaves the room too and is not present while the Panel discuss their conclusions and come to their recommendation on the outcome of the Appeal. The recommendation goes to the Minister, who takes the final decision. But yes, you can take a witness or adviser.

Im gonna take a wild stab in the dark here and guess the appeal I was supposed to be having sometime end of April beginning of May will be Off ?
You might be offered the option to do it by conference call. This was looked at a couple of years ago. Panel Members felt it was not appropriate in normal circumstances as it was important for appellants to be able to see the Panel members, and not everyone would be comfortable on the phone, juggling papers etc , but it may have been kept as an option under extreme circumstances.

A conference call under these circumstances is fair enough but with my case and the complexities of it I don’t think it would really work unfortunately.

Update !.
Ive had an email the appeal is to go ahead, but due to Covid 19 I have 3 options.

1 written hearing where I have no input - not an option for me

2 teleconference where I can put my case forward - still don’t think this is of use in my specific case, far too many complexities (this is also the RPA’S preferred option)

3 wait for a face to face hearing but they don’t know when this understandably will be possible - my preferred option and will wait, I want to see the look on someone’s face when I turn my Ace card !.

The RPA really really do work in very very mysterious ways !.
Only because a lot of 'em that work there don't know their @rse from their elbow

They appear to be working on the assumption that if they stall you off for long enough you'll go away.

Stick at 'em - the longer it goes on, the more chance you have.

Good luck.
