Had visitors for the third time in a week and a half last night. The second time in two days.

It's getting worse round here and by the sounds of it everywhere. Quite a bit of thieving activity I've seen on Facebook occurred last night.

Anyway, farmers and people living around Thorpe Salvin near Worksop or in the areas around be vigilant. This padlock held its own and they didn't get through but they did the previous two locks.

Maybe this can be the start of a thread for people to post crimes as they hear or they occur to raise awareness in your area?

Grass harrow, mower and topper were taken from 1/2 mile away, also dumper taken but retrieved by the owner after a slow speed chase.:D

Also log grab with rotator taken from 360 machine by hot wiring it,another farm had a visit in the day.

All in the last 3 weeks and within 4 miles.

We had more substantial locks on before but the gate is shared acces and had two bars and locks on to allow acces to the three different parties that need access. They cut through the bar first time. A strong chain and lock put in and that got cut and disappeared. Which this moon padlock went on to make it secure over night and then that happened last night. All prepped for serious modification tomorrow.

Luckily they haven't taken anything as there's nothing to be got by getting down the track but think they are searching for acces that way to another spot where pickings are to be better.

Aren't there any ex-armed forces manned security firms local, would be ideal for a determined short term campaign like yours, I'd think.

had diesel and pto shafts stolen from here in the last five weeks plus a few odd bits including a old wheelarrow, loads of others had stuff taken too, really bad at the moment, having to install a load of cameras etc, local plod were alerted by a tracker to a storage place a couple of weeks ago and instead of having a sneaky look see and wait for the scumbags to turn up they go mob handed and get a lot of nicked stuff but of course the scum bags see the place is raided and keep clear :banghead::banghead:

It's now escalated to arson. The place they have been tryin to break into over the last two weeks.

Around 10 am this morning they set fire to the farm they have been trying to find access too.

So Be Vigilant!

Not the type of people to do that. Very much keep themselves to themselves and rarely see them about or farming. Pretty much recluse farmers. However saying that we have always found them very nice and friendly when we have chatted.

In the last hour I've seen (and shared) 2 posts on Facebook. One was regarding the theft of a chicken coop and hens belonging a child, the other regarding the theft of a vintage ford transit van adapted for its paraplegic owner. Thieves disgust me. What's getting to me more though is the total lack of interest from the police. They're getting less effective all the time, that's probably the wrong word, they're not effective because they don't even attempt to do anything. How long can this go on?
