Never done this before - zero till hybrid rye (for combining) into a chopped spring barley stubble with a healthy crop of volunteers on it

anyone with experience of this / done it before that can offer any do's / don't 's ? 250ac going in so don't want to screw up ! bit worried about the spring barleys oat style allopathic properties ? should I be ?

Probably completely irrelevant but the rye I've drilled as a cover into spring barley stubble has over taken any volunteers, but it's not hybrid and the straw wasn't chopped so that's probably not much help.
Just thought I'd put my two pence worth in though:rolleyes:

I've got lots of vetch/rye cover crops sown into spring barley stubbles. The barley looked like it would out compete it all but has now died back with disease, mainly net blotch. Last year there was very little barley left by March but it was alive, so I didn't get to see if it would compete and seed later on. Glyphosate pre drilling/pre em to reduce the burden?
