Rye straw value

Inspired by this thread, I thought I'd ask a similar question.

I've got a field of spring rye I'm growing for grain. I hadn't realised how tall it was! Is there a market for rye straw?

A couple of extra variables - it's organic, and I don't have a baler. I know a contractor who could do it who also trades in bales of all kinds - where would I start in sorting out a price for him coming and baling it and taking it away?
Hi, you can sell organic rye straw to natural beekeepers in bundles. I'd buy some and i am sure plenty of people who are making their own sun hives would. If you google Sun Hive you will see that people are making skep hives with organic rye straw. www.naturalbeekeepingtrust.org - email [email protected] - maybe you could sell it via a link on their website or your own if you have one...? It would need to be cut with a sickle, scythe or the cutter bar of an old binder, not from a combine.
