Don't do it!!!

I made the absolutely schoolboy error of updating without investigating and now Google's ruined my phone. If you're thinking of doing it just don't. Lots of it has been made difficult to read cos the symbols and text are soooo thinly drawn. It's like a four year old from Apple's been brought in to change everything for the worse. It's childlike. They've replaced words with baffling symbols for reasons best known to themselves. Everything's been changed to make you have to learn how to use your phone all over again. Uuuuurrrgh it's awful.

Does anyone know how to roll the mess back to Marshmallow?

I upgraded over the weekend & thought it was quite smart looking, no problems so far.

Just did mine today and phone is slow and unresponsive and keeps crashing.

Oh and did I mention that the Apple makeover has worked its magic on my battery? Defo worse since the update. Thanks Google.

That also happened to my Sony Z5 compact.

Don't despair though!

Android v7 (nougat) somehow learns your battery performance over the first few charge/discharge cycles. Let the battery drain to 0% a couple of times, and I've found it now lasts significantly better than it did in the previous android version.

Just looked at mine (Samsung S7) and I see it's on Ver 7.0 . Didn't even know I had it , and I haven't had any deterioration in performance (phone that is) Don't know that it's any better though .

Over a week now since upgrade and the phone has shut down numerous programs that were in the background being unused, battery now lasts as long as it did before the upgrade maybe even slightly better.

I found that battery saving thingy , and I thought that it was a well worth addition as it shuts down apps that have been left running .

My battery life is defo worse even with the shutting down of background apps enabled. Everything seems to take an extra couple of taps now, and for what?

Its a bit of a PITA but a hard reset is going to benefit any Android phone thats had a major upgrade.
