Reading his posts on here it seemed to me that he was a very clever chap with a depth of knowledge and passion for the industry but also very laid back and the type of person that could get on with anyone and everyone.
I have worked alongside Gavin a number of times over the years, usually over a soil pit on a wet day. I was shocked to hear of Gavins passing and my condolences go out to yourself Nathan and the rest of your family.
Thank you for posting, it must have been a hard thing to do.
I hope someone would do the same for me as I'd hate to think people thought I'd just faded away and often worry when familiar names haven't posted for a while.
Sorry for your loss. Gavin was a real enthusiast who passed his great knowledge on in a practical down to earth manner. He is a loss to your family but also agriculture in the North and North East.
