Sad Pictures of Hay

Location
Devon
Mine is still in the field uncut - bloody weather is a rite pita. At this rate will get nothing of the fields as I was told to wait till july for Hay, as June hay is shite apparently. Wish I took the gamble in June now!

If you make it right then June hay is the best hay you will EVER make.

Whoever told you that about June hay being rubbish have no idea what good hay should be like!

Tidy shed.Self build? How much was the hay £/ton delivered?

The shed was built in the 70's under the old FHDS scheme however used to have a sheeted side so a while ago we took the side sheets off and used them for a cantilever to keep the weather out.

You can see where we sawed the timber off for the door where the elevator used to push in to lift the small bales.

Not sure exactly the price as our supplier is very fair so we tend to just order a load and then the bill will arrive sometime.

The joys of making hay in the driest corner of England, all cut a week ago on a good forecast.

Why on earth are you just "frog tossing" (a term used by an old boy I knew who is sadly departed now) it?
If you'd of rolled it over onto the dry ground between the rows..... you'd probably of got it with a couple of hours of sun and a breeze.

I am rolling it onto new ground - just, wind was so strong that the rows then started to blow - very frustrating.

I like the idea of frog-tossing, it could be a new pastime post Brexit?
