Samsung Sablet Charging Socket.

I've just bought a Samsung TB A (2019) tablet and the charging socket is different. I've had their phones and tablets for years and any of my charging cables fitted all of the devices. What is this nonsense?

Is it bigger on the Tablet? I can't remember what size the Samsung Tablet uses here I don't use it. But you can buy adapters to take it up a size

It's about the same size but it's a different shape. I've just looked at the startup guide and it's described as a micro type C. As to the shape, it's got rounded ends so it will fit either way round.

I charge in 3 different places around the house. Looks like I'll have to get some adapters.

Yeah, it's a pain the change.
However as said it a better design, since it'll withstand more ins and outs than micro usb, fit either way around which is nice and it can carry more current, so things have the potential to charge quicker (subject to the charger on the end of the cable being up for it)

So I think, on this occasion the change is justified, unlike other manufacturers changing the cables for random reasons (like it's a Monday or whatever)

USB C is becoming the new default. It can handle bigger voltages so can be used to charge faster. Don’t worry / they will all be that in a few years. Just go on ebay or Amazon and buy a few cables. You might also need to get higher wattage power blocks too though - so don’t be surprised if the older charge points aren’t up to the job.

The old Samsung sockets are useless. Broke on both my Samsung phones. Luckily my current one can be charged wirelessly, have been doing this for a couple of years.
