Samsung TV & BBC iPlayer

Have one tv affected by this. Came up when trying to watch iPlayer that I need to carry out and update and showed the instructions on screen.

Checked for updates - none available.

Decided to Google for it today and seems it's a common glitch across a whole swathe of tvs spanning thousands of set and a software update won't be provided until next year!

Info here in case anyone else is affected and struggling over Christmas. Thankfully I have a Fire TV stick from Amazon so can use that to access iPlayer on that tv.

The Older Samsung here has been coming up with "updates available"

I've just ignored them I'll pay attention next time it pops up.

It’s the trouble with software updates today.

Manufacturers advise keeping up to date to ensure security fixes etc are applied. Yet many updates seem to create as many issues as they solve.

Apple are very good at this....and not so good at fixing the messes they’ve made again!

Sorry, but you are wrong - I just checked the dictionary and Upgrade means:-
raise (something) to a higher standard, in particular improve (equipment or machinery) by adding or replacing components

?

Had this a few days ago. Looked for updates.......all up to date anyway......went back to iPlayer and it worked fine....shrug shoulders......watch 30secs........zzzzzzzzz

?

"Upgrade" was your choice of word, not mine.
