Sanderson 623 teleporter help please

I was called out to this today the guy is an 80 year old that's been struggling on with this machine for a while it devoloped a fault overnight it stopped working in forward when I checked it today it was trying to reverse in neutral reverses in reverse but absolutely nothing in forward I dropped the oil and replaced it took out the shuttle valve cleaned it up and the solonoids it's really stiff to change gear selection managed to get it into 1st it drove forward a few feet but wasn't happy stalled and when restarted was the same again trying to reverse and only going backwards nothing on the forward position I swapped the solonoids over again only wanted to go back.. I haven't changed transmission filter yet as I didn't have one could this being blocked cause this or is it a fault in the transmission any help ideas would be greatly received just want to help this old guy out and try to get it working again it dosent do a lot and in his words he didn't want to buy another because he dosent know how long he's got left his self any ideas please I've not had anything to do with these machines so I'm in the dark a bit thanks..

Sorry badly explained even in forward it trys to creep back when you rev it it moves back in forwards

Ours was the electric shuttle lever on the steering column.
Think it would go one way, and not the other.

Thanks he's had electro diesel out who have said it's all ok he's had a new stalk on it but it's like it's not returning to neutral creeping back in neutral and forward and reversing normally

Talking to OP via PM.

But for anyone interested I would expect to fine a burnt out forward clutch pack and failed clutch linings on reverse clutch that have snowballed on top each other causing it to drag. Or the reverse pack is totally burnt out and the discs are warped making it drag.

Either way it's a transmission out and overhaul.

Yeah, gearbox out for sure. As ACEngineering has suggested a pack issue. Just done a JCB with same symptoms but forward instead of reverse.
