Save the countryside

so, are beavers going to stop HS2, or house building, or road building? I would have thought those were the biggest threats to the countryside (apart from tree planting a monoculture of pine trees).

It will need an open cull policy outside of the areas the bloody things are released...

Bad enough effing badgers digging into and destroying railway and road cuttings AND dikes!

If you truly want to save the countryside then go the whole hog and introduce bears back into the wilds of Britain.
Every fecker and his/her partner and their various assortment of unruly hounds will be so sh#t scared to venture out it'll be left to us whom live/work in it to crack on in relative peace and quiet without interference...apart from the occasional chasing by said bears obvs!

“They” all want the countryside to be warm and fuzzy, but don’t realise that many wild species quite like us so are happy to move into towns.

City foxes anyone? Folks love them until they’re digging up their shrubbery and fighting with their cat in the middle of the night.

So let’s have all the wolves and bears the countryside can support and watch what happens when a bear fancies a snack.

18 months ago I seem to recall a Welsh town overrrun with wild goats. Give them an inch ….

Been there and seen it.
Total devastation is an understatement.
Locals we’re keen to point out the disaster that it was.
The photos in the article are a true view of reality.

Good to have it corroborated, I see @egbert responded to my post of the article from National Geographic. It would make a great piece for one of your articles in the WMN …… chance for the other side of the story instead of reading about how wonderful it is from the likes of Chris Jones and Derek Gow.
