Scaffold boards or tanalised ?

Need to replace boards around some veg. plots, have used tanalised gravel boards in the past which only lasted a few years. Scaffold boards are the same price, should they last longer ?

I doubt very much that scaffold boards would last longer.

Have a look at Jackson’s Fencing products to see if they have anything, because their timber is properly pressure treated with complete penetration of preservative.

Buy a tub of proper creosote and liberally soak the boards with it every year or two and they will last forever...

That's one option, ones I have seen were about £18 for a 3m length, is that a typical price ?

We use fully creosoted fence posts but OH not too happy about kneeling next to creosoted boards in warm weather when they are sweating.

Scaf boards wont last ,very cheap timber ,,you can get new oak 200x100x2.4 sleapers for £20 each

Scaffold planks treared or not will be gone in less than2 years.we now buy plastic planks

I have some older scaffold planks that I used to make some raised troughs about 4/5 years ago and they aren't showing any signs of rot yet - probably due for a soaking though.

New ones are shite
