Just to reassure victims that it is more than possible to get your money back after a scam such as this. It's a slow process, takes months and often over a year, but it most definitely can be done because that's exactly what I've been doing for the past 6+ years. My clients have included farmers who have fallen victim to other scams such as 'telephone spoofing' which is when a telephone call is made that appears to come from the recipient's bank's fraud department. Then there are 'investment scams', 'impersonation scams', 'CEO scams', 'conveyancing scams', 'romance scams' and of course 'purchase scams' (the topic of this thread). But they're all the same, effectively - most of these involve a bank transfer (or cluster of transfers) authorised by the victim. The methodology may vary but the execution is the same: Money leaves your account as instructed by you, and lands in the account of a thief.

I have featured in numerous TV and radio programmes (Money Box, You&Yours, FileOn4, Rip-Off Britain, the Tonight Show etc) as well as many newspaper features since 2015. As far as I know I am still the only person or company that specialises in the reimbursement of funds lost to vehicle-related online scams. It's complicated and slow, and never a matter of just 'filling in a form'. Every case is different and challenging in its own way..

It's easier to get large reimbursements than it is for smaller ones. This is why I often don't take on the smaller cases. There is a perfectly logical reason for that: small transactions (by which I mean £5,000 or less) are increasingly difficult to convince independent arbitration services as being unusual or suspicious, whereas complaints based on larger transactions are more likely to be upheld. Another detail is that losses incurred from business accounts are - rightly or wrongly - more difficult to win back than losses from personal accounts.

If you would like free advice or an assessment, email me: [email protected]

I work on a no-win/no-fee basis, in effect pro-bono - sometimes known as a Conditional Fee Arrangement. This means there is no risk of additional losses.

Since mid 2015 I have won c. 94% of all the cases I have taken on - and there have been hundreds. In 2020, the figure for that calendar year was 100%, the second time that has happened.

There's a lot of cheap tractors on Facebook , all in central London , the "seller" is a
Francisco Nájera Perona , it appears to be a genuine account that's been hacked, avoid or throw your on money the fire , same difference .

SCAM do not have anything to do with this company. What legal company offers to deliver from Kent to Wales no charge then offers 5 years finance 0% and then machinery as cheap as it is plus not allowing visitors to the site to view. Please be aware we nearly got sucked in thank goodness we didn’t .

Hi Guys. First time posting. Just want to say a big thanks. If it was not for finding this thread I would probably have fallen foul of this website:-

Saw a tractor on Facebook for sale by a guy calling himself Renovus. Messaged him about it and saw his other listings. Bells started ringing as every machine he has for sale is pictured in a different location and background.
He is masquerading as a finance repossession resale company.
When you check the details with Company house it brings up another business with nearly the same website address and complete books etc. Looks legitimate.
They even have a live chat on the website. Said I am welcome to visit the address in Aberdeen and pay there and then and collect but they will deliver free to save me the trip.
Address is in the middle of a housing estate lol
What made me delve deeper was that he said he had taken a deposit on the tractor I wanted but had another nearly the same but cheaper.
Then 8 hours later he answered my facebook message saying the same tractor was for sale????? I called him out and called him a scammer. He aint replied yet!!!

Came on here and saw the same tractor on another post with the same green logo listing the seller as a scammer.
So thanks again to you folks. you saved me money.
I hope this post also stops anyone else getting scammed

He as just sent me a invoice for a avant skid steer. He's trying to get me to pay him half then the rest on delivery. I'm going to respond and say I have decided to pick up instead to see what response I get back.
He's got lots of ads all over Facebook market place with different locations but all pick ups are in Aberdeenshire, also like you said all pictures are different backgrounds.
I also checked the vat number off the webpage and it don't even exist, he's just found a company at the Aberdeen address from companies House to tray and make it look legit and made up a webpage.
This guy needs stopping as someone's going to loose lots of money if not.

I have his bank account details so surly thats a lead if passed to the authorities.

brearleyequipment.co.uk scammers advertising used agricultural machinery, just scammed £5500 from my parents for a compact tractor, based in Gloucester but it’s a clone and the phone number is Birmingham based, website IP is hidden but shows server as RU = Russia.

Yeah that correct, I think they have cloned a legitimate company, I actually found a Dutch website that was advertising the compact tractor my parents thought they were buying, but again I don’t know if that was genuine or fake, I never knew it was such a market for scumbag people scamming others unfortunately, the phone number UK based is Solihull area in Birmingham, the other number showing for the German yard never answers it just rings busy when I have tried, like you say all very professional, invoice with company details and everything, hopefully if your sister in law goes through the fraud squad she can recoup her money, I have reported the website on the gov.co.uk website but it’s still up and running although they say they take scam/fraud very seriously!!

I imagine they wait for funds to hit the bank and transfer them immediately into another account, the bank then can’t recall the money as the alarm hasn’t been raised, then when it is the funds have disappeared, what should happen is the IBAN should flag up with the banks system when you ask them to make the transfer, banks are aware of suspected/fraudulent accounts, however they don’t check or expect you to have done the due diligence, with more and more scams the banks should check more, hopefully you’ll be able to claim it back from your bank, but these scum bags need closing down but it dosent seem like the authorities can be bothered, I’ve reported the website over 10 times and numerous others aswell but it’s still there catching people.

Does this ring alarm bells for anyone else?
Good ol’ Katie Ann (FB profile has absolutely nothing on it) has a fine selection of vehicles and
“Cash on collection or delivery with full invoice supplied “ Bet they won’t deliver without full payment up front? All the pics have different backgrounds. These scams are getting more and more clever and we all need to be more diligent, if you can’t see the stuff in person it probably doesn’t exist and as the old saying goes ‘if it sounds too good to be true it probably is’.
Dis a reverse image search on a mini digger, to be fair hers didn’t come up but 2 people, Beard machinery and Euro auctions have the same machine?
