That's some result. Had that before, not too keen to repeat, what's your plan for the orphans.

My results
270 mule and mulextexel 194% with no empties, must have got the culling right for once

91 yearlings and ewe lambs 148% 5 empty mostly ewe lambs
Absolutely chuffed

That’s a great scan!

I’ve got a Volac ewe 2 feeder, so will bottle them to start with and then put them on that with creep, straw and water.

Only had the rams in for three weeks following the teaser so more barrens than I really wanted (although glad to shift them last week as no grass) but of the ones that held (38) 200%, 10 triplets and one quads.
Nice one! To high for my liking but can your ewes take it? Did you go to the mart up the road last wednesday?

Yes Crymych but only to drop off. OH had a heart attack just before New Year and we're still catching up with stuff that needs doing in every minute I'm not at work and it needs two of us to do everything. Mostly cos I'm there to stop him doing stupid stuff. Although the beggar did sneak out and do some fencing with the hand post rammer the other day.

As to the ewes........after lambing I lift the triplet off. I have got a few older ewes with singles who might raise an extra one although lambing outside it can be more trouble than it's worth. Cold and lib milk works fine for me as it fits in with being at work.

I am a bit worried about keeping the ewes in condition but equally am determined they will not be fed in mid pregnancy so they are down to very plain hay and roots (grass roots) with an optilix bucket as of now unless they have trips they are getting phased down to the same over the next week.

Best news is ewe lambs are having singles (@Tim W ' s Charollais).

As an update on our ewes, bloods showed the bolus had worked as intended, suggested worms (the dead one had a mid range worm burden). Going to worm the empties today and get muck to egg count to be sure that's a problem, will get samples to count the in lamb ones but will most likely hold off worming them until we are giving hept in March and give them a white drench at fluke level to cover worms and fluke (unless they have a high burden).
Another update, geld ewes had an FEC of over 2000! Sheep in lamb I think were around 900 so seems highly likely worms were to blame at least partly. Will be worming pre tupping next year, or at the very least FEC them.

At least you've found something wrong, that you can fix. But odd though? Any idea what caused it?

I'd be happy with that! 196% and over two thirds lambing as twins - a great result.

Thanks, one of our better ones.
On paper a better 196% than last years. Had more empties, less singles and a good few more triplets so hopfully fewer losses at lambing time but as always weather will be the biggest decider of that.

Same here but,
16 empty,
192 single,
17 twins,
That is against 64 twins last year and 46 the year before.
I wonder how many days they have had with a dry fleece since weaning?
How many dry days since marking would be the count here don't imagine it would be many more than twenty odd, jeez things are wet.
