When you say hoggets do you mean ewe lambs? If so what breed are they? and will you make them rear their doubles? So many ?sTexel Mules 192%
Mules 182%
Hoggets 170%
Overall 182%
Down slightly from last year but had a few more younger sheep this year so I suppose that is understandable?
No not ewe lambs - they are yearlings. Mixture of Texel Mule cross and Mules. When you say hoggets do you mean ewe lambs? If so what breed are they? and will you make them rear their doubles? So many ?s
No idea I don’t get it either but I lamb my ewe lambs separately but once they’ve lambed they join the ewe flocks….What is crack with dividing up into shearlings and remainder ?
To me they are a one flock what am I missing ?
We lamb our ewe lambs and they stay in that management group until lambing the following year as gimmers let’s me be a little kinder to them, possibly should keep them away from mature ewes until weaning as gimmers but don’t , a lot of these sheep will have worked very hard for me need to give them a little chanceWhat is crack with dividing up into shearlings and remainder ?

id be happy with that 'most' of them twins where you wanna be really tripplets are a pain if you have to many.We are slightly down from the last few years but more than happy also the tups only came out couple of days before scanning so out of the 14 barren usually half of them are in lamb when we scan the ewe lambs in janView attachment 1004409

62% twins here is that good or bad. Can only tupping twin born ewe lambs improve this?Twinning % is probably more telling
I was once told anything over 70% is considered smashing it out of the park.62% twins here is that good or bad. Can only tupping twin born ewe lambs improve this?

Anything over 60% is extremely good, had up to 66% twins here in previous years, seen a lot of more prolific flocks have maybe less than 50% twins but 30% tripletsI was once told anything over 70% is considered smashing it out of the park.
