Gimmers which were all in the second lot pulled things back a bit. Had them running on poorest grass during the summer drought which must have had more of an effect on them than I thought.

190%here today 215 scanned only 2 geld 1 was a lamb that jumped into neighbours tup and got marked.

Scanned yearlings that couldn't be sold in the autumn and some welsh ewes that I bought to grazing some very poor land.

I was happy with the mules, the cheviots are about what I expected (these 197 ran with only 2 easy Suffolk yearling rams, that where fitter when they finished tupping than when they went in). But unhappy with the welsh yearlings. Far to big a empty rate, but I have no experience with welsh mountain ewes so I'm not sure if this is normal for them (they did only cost £45 and are very small). 3 of the empty's look as though they will never have lambs and I may keep the 4 others.
