For any one who is interested I collect casualty cows on vets notes.
All cows that have had a accident I do a on farm slaughter and take to abattoir dead.
Broken a leg
Done splits
Bad calving

Do you put casualty cows down on farm and still pay for them?

Yes I do.its all legal and above board.
The farmers needs to have his vet there at the time of slaughter.the vet examines the cow and signs a certificate to say over than the accident the cow is fit and healthy and can enter the food chain.
The vet writes time of slaughter on the certificate then I have to shoot and bleed the cow while the vet is present.i then have 2 hours to get it to the abattoir
