Got another batch of tags delivered today. I'm bloody pee'd off cos already tagged and sent off 44 in January. Got another 40 tags today for different numbers and 7 bulls. So 33 calves of which 14 were sold last week. Why do I need to tissue tag more?

Christ knows but they are wasting money printing tags for cattle that are sold. I would of been happy enough to do them all in January in a oner than have to throw tags away!

Looking at the list of tags on scoteid website that we have to do, all the additional ones are from our spring calving herd, none from the autumn calvers. They appear to be selected from the 1st half of the calving (previous selected animals were from the 2 nd half of the spring calving). Reading the news page on the rural payments website it appears that they may have been selected from the 1st half off the scheme year. The ones we have to do, most were sold last week. Again from the news page on RP website it says if the animals are not available for tagging, further animals will be selected later on. By the time they get round to selecting those animals we will probably have sold them as well. (We sell the bulk of the autumn calves in may).
Efficiency scheme?!
Also most of our calves are from ai sires so the 3 stock bulls we have that have been selected for tagging will have sired next to none of the calves they have selected.

Was on the phone & had a moan at them ( I to have more spring calves to tissue tag ) even though it says in the guidance notes that calves born 1st Jan - 1st June will be done by beginning of Nov / Calves born 2nd June - 31st Dec by the end of April

Started to this today, the majority of calves that need tested are 90 % AAX heifers. As most of our calves are CHX it seams very specific. Does anyone have any idea what they are actually trying to achieve?

It would seem i am too late in entering some of my calves 400 day weights the system wont let me enter them and i have a few cow disposals which werent entered by the deadline for last year, does anyone know what sort of penalty/if any im likely to get?

I entered weights and disposals yesterday and it worked fine.

Is that for last years and are they over 400 days now? I managed to enter weights for most of them but it wouldnt let me for 15 that were over the 400 days
Last years, yes. The calves are now over 400 days, but when weighed, they weren't. I would double check the date you weighed them to see if they were under 400 days.
