Scotland invades England

Hang on I thought everyone was dead against food miles? "Destroying the planet" and all that.
I seem to remember someone saying Scotland got some kind of extra headage payment? Doesn't that give them an unfair advantage, sending beef to England? Get the NFU on it sharpish.

Joking. I think?
Lower area payments in Scotland, and lower stocking rates due to high proportion of upland and shorter season means that even with a calf payment the payment in Scotland generally works put lower on Suckler farms.

That was horse, not beef.
It's beef.

There really needs to be an undercover investigation into what beef products might or might not travel to the UK from Europe or elsewhere, via the ROI or elsewhere, and which might or might not end up being marketed as Scotch or other beef.

And it can only be done by folk who are not afraid of receiving a serious knee injury.

There does.
Last time my haulier took some of our cast cows to the abattoir he said his and the rest of the lorries with livestock had to sit & wait while a convoy of 8 lorry loads of Polish beef via Ireland got brought into the plant.

You obviously don't believe that ''Larry the Beef''' (get it?), who has interests in abattoirs and cutting plants etc from Eastern Europe to Scotland, and has the ROI Government in his pocket, isn't involved in dodgy dealings.
Keep hearing about all this dodgy beef being imported through Ireland. Still haven't seen any concrete evidence to back it up. Its just what a lorry driver said. Any lorry drivers care to take some pictures/provide some evidence to back it up?

Innocent until proven guilty in my book.

How do you tell that a convoy of trucks is from Ireland or Poland or that it is carrying Polish beef? Does the accent give it away maybe, or but em flat out down the motorway and the Irish truck is faster whilst the other is loudly playing extreme techno?

The employee on the Lairage tells you he’s sorry for the delay and what caused it when they finally let you in to offload.
